Supervised Practice Experiences
Welcome to our Supervised Practice Experiences We provide al a carte personalized supervision and mentoring sessions, supportive activities, tools and resources for CNS candidates, tailored to fit your unique lifestyle, financial needs, and experience level. Enjoy the of one-on-one attention that allows you to at your own pace while benefiting from convenient scheduling and remote options. Let us support you in achieving your goals, no matter how busy life gets!
CNS® Approved Supervisor Sessions
Susan Testa Nutrition makes scheduling easy for the CNS Candidate. Just click on the appropriate session to schedule your next session with your supervisor. For your first session, you will attend a mandatory 90-minute on-boarding session that will get you up and running successfully. Important information, guidance and tools will be provided during this session to help you understand everything you need to know to maximize your training and experience. Otherwise, you will have the convenience to plan your future sessions with your supervisor.
Start-Up Package
Starting a successful, safe, and legal supervised practice experience begins with having the right paperwork and tools in place. During your initial 90-minute assessment and planning "on boarding" session with your supervisor, receive essential client forms tailored for nutrition care. Additionally, you'll find valuable resources, including guidance on an affordable health record system and professional liability insurance and much more to support your practice.
For those who may need to start-up their experience with observation hours before engaging in direct client care, you've come to the right place! We can provide you with the appropriate resources to help you accumulate these hours.
Virtual Nutrition Grand Rounds
Our virtual Nutrition Grand Rounds (VGRs) consist of real client-patient case presentations and discussion model held one to two times monthly presented by CNS candidates to other CNS candidates. VGRs are offered as another method of continuing education & learning to improve the continuity of care of your client-patient population through discussing follow up session progress with your peers. Our VGRs also builds a sense of community with your peers. VGRs are optional for any intern under Susan's supervision.
Candidate Connectors
At Susan Testa Nutrition, we understand the importance of building connections during your to becoming a Certified Nutrition Specialist. In addition to our monthly Virtual Nutrition Grand Rounds, we provide three other opportunities for candidates to engage and support one another as they work towards completing their supervised practice hours and prepare for their board examination
Client Referrals & Recruiting Support
We are dedicated to empowering our CNS candidates in client marketing and recruitment within their communities. Our monthly sessions provide structured guidance in a collaborative group setting, enhancing your skills alongside peers. We also support our CNS candidates in reaching potential clients through targeted condition-specific webinars. Plus, we proudly offer no-cost nutrition to those in need in Maryland, providing valuable referrals for our candidates.
